Rob Wakefield is our  Athletic Director here at CPU School of Athletics. He works with all the head coaches to recruit new players, help develop the players, and contributes to all the sports teams with their growth and expansion of their program. Mr. Wakefield has over 20+ years of experiences in the collegiate sports world and has worked with hundreds of student-athletes in the past. 

Rob serves as the visionary leader and driving force behind the success of an institution’s athletic programs. Responsible for overseeing all sports teams and athletic operations, he ensures that programs are conducted with integrity, excellence, and a commitment to student-athlete development both on and off the field.

With a focus on leadership, organization, and strategic planning, Rob manages coaching staff, coordinates schedules, oversees compliance, and fosters a culture of discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship. They play a critical role in building competitive programs while prioritizing academic achievement, character growth, and the overall well-being of student-athletes.

Beyond daily operations, Mr. Wakefield represents the institution in the community, strengthens partnerships, and promotes school pride through athletics. Dan Mooney leads the men’s basketball program with a strategic, high-intensity approach focused on execution, discipline, and results. He places a strong emphasis on game preparation, situational awareness, and in-game adjustments, ensuring his team competes with confidence and precision. Coach Mooney prioritizes basketball IQ, strength and conditioning, and mental toughness, pushing his players to consistently perform at their highest level.

Beyond the court, he is committed to developing leadership, accountability, and resilience within his student-athletes. His program culture is built on structure, consistency, and a relentless work ethic, preparing players not only for competition, but for success in academics and in life.

Leo Gutierrez brings a strong vision and passion to his role as the inaugural head coach of California Prestige University Baseball. With a deep commitment to developing athletes at every level, Coach Gutierrez emphasizes not only skill progression and game fundamentals, but also the importance of mindset, preparation, and consistency.

As he builds the program from the ground up, Coach Gutierrez is focused on establishing a solid foundation rooted in discipline, accountability, and a team-first culture. He is dedicated to creating an environment where players are challenged to grow both athletically and personally, while learning the values of leadership, perseverance, and respect for the game.

Under his leadership, CPU Baseball aims to develop well-rounded student-athletes who compete with integrity and pride. Coach Gutierrez’s energy, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence will play a key role in shaping a competitive and sustainable program for years to come.

Mike Feldman is an experienced and passionate coach dedicated to guiding athletes toward excellence on and off the court. He emphasizes a balanced approach that combines skill development, strategic thinking, and mental toughness. Known for his approachable leadership style, Coach Feldman fosters strong relationships with his players, encouraging open communication, collaboration, and personal growth.

He is committed to building a program rooted in discipline, teamwork, and resilience, where each athlete is challenged to reach their full potential while learning the value of responsibility, perseverance, and sportsmanship. Alexis Ubillus brings a creative and modern coaching style to the men’s soccer program, emphasizing an attacking philosophy and intelligent ball movement. He is known for encouraging players to play with confidence, creativity, and freedom while maintaining structure and discipline within the team system.

Coach Ubillus places a strong focus on player expression and adaptability, helping athletes understand the game at a deeper level through situational awareness and tactical flexibility. Women's Soccer Coach leads the women’s soccer program with a holistic and empowering approach that prioritizes both performance and personal growth. Her philosophy centers on building strong team chemistry, emotional intelligence, and trust, creating an environment where players feel supported, confident, and motivated to excel.

Rather than focusing solely on results, she emphasizes process—developing consistency, communication, and composure in every aspect of the game. Her sessions are structured yet encouraging, designed to bring out each player’s strengths while reinforcing collective responsibility and unity.
